Natalie Baillargeon Counsellor and Educator

Natalie Baillargeon has been helping individuals overcome physical and mental health challenges for over fifteen years. She started by coaching Special Olympic swimmers and providing therapeutic swim sessions to military and civilians with physical ailments, disorders, and traumatic brain injuries.

 

Natalie's interest in music has also helped her hone her mental health skills, enabling her to provide creative assistance to others. Before healthcare, she attended the Conservatory of Music, Second City Improv Conservatory, and Sutherland Models-Film|TV.

 

Natalie leverages her creativity in music, poetry, and other art forms and uses role-playing techniques to provide quality healthcare. Mind Revitalized is founded on her personal experience, professional and educational background, and art performance expertise.

Natalie's Qualifications:

Diploma in Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant- OTA/PTA (Honours):

This rehabilitation approach has helped individuals overcome physical and mental health challenges. For Natalie, it has evolved into a passion for aiding those who have lost their sense of self, self-esteem, and overall wellness.

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology with a Counselling Specialization and a Minor in Women's Studies:

With her acquired counselling skills, Natalie is dedicated to aiding and advocating for individuals with diverse physical and mental conditions and impairments, helping them maximize their quality of life.

Currently, Natalie is doing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

As a future psychotherapist with Mind Revitalized, Natalie plans to offer improved care services to individuals. An update will be provided once the program is completed and this service is available.

Work Experience: (recent to past)

​​Mind Revitalized - Counsellor | Educator: Natalie is skilled in assisting people who have faced harassment, discrimination, or unfair treatment in various situations. Sometimes, negative experiences in our upbringing, including family dynamics and social circles during childhood and adolescence, can result in toxic relationships in the present, be it at school, work or in the community. These experiences can impact our ability to communicate, stand up for ourselves and cultivate self-love. Natalie's objective is to provide guidance and education on how to regain your self-esteem, strengthen your voice, and transition to a healthier and happier lifestyle. Moreover, Natalie possesses extensive experience in advocating for the rights of individuals with disabilities, particularly women. She teaches people how to identify neurodiversity, interact effectively, and treat everyone with respect.

Harm Reduction Counsellor: Natalie provided on-the-street treatment and assistance for victims of human trafficking, abuse, addiction, and homelessness. She offered harm-reduction alternatives for safer use and counselled and guided individuals toward establishing life-altering recovery objectives.

​

Drug and Addiction Counsellor & Treatment Intake Coordinator: Natalie provided care and support for victims of human trafficking. She also provided advocacy and aid for those struggling with homelessness and addiction, with a particular focus on Indigenous individuals. Natalie additionally provided counselling and admission services to detox and treatment facilities.

​

Indigenous Liaison Officer: Natalie advocated for Indigenous rights with a feminist approach. She also provided programming for awareness of Missing and Murdered Women and Girls and organized cultural awareness workshops for police, medics, and healthcare and education systems.

​

Occupational Therapy Assistant & Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA): Natalie has worked in various medical fields, including emergency medicine, surgery, intensive care, pediatrics, psychiatry, rehabilitation, forensic psychiatric institutions, rehabilitation clinics, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and halfway houses.​​​​​
